Hooray for Random, or maybe not so random posts

"Why do you fight, Maximus"
"For the glory of Rome"
"And what is that? There was a dream that was Rome. You could only whisper it. Anything more than a whisper and it would vanish, it was so fragile."

"Is Rome worth one good man's life? We believed it once. Make us believe it again. He was a soldier of Rome. Honor him."

"Death smiles at us all. All a man can do is smile back."

For the glory of Rome . . .

YES!!!

That is such a good movie...

The awesome thing is that we as Christians fight not for the Glory of Rome, but for the Glory of God. Our dream, our "myth" is not so fragile that we can but whisper it; it is so strong that it permeats all creation; it fills our lives and overflows througout the universe.

We know God is worth a good man's life. May our lives and deaths make others not only believe, but KNOW that our dream is worth a good man's life. May we be remembered as soldiers of God. May we live, fight, and die "for the saints of God and for the Lamb!"

Strength and honor.
